We've received a good deal of emails concerning the Blue Ridge as to why it is not rated Gold like its counterpart, Virginia's Skyline Drive. The answer: the Blue Ridge has the scenery, well paved roads, and numerous bends and curves...but simply lacks the intensity. The Blue Ridge Parkway is certainly a road worth conquering, and as such sits on the Silver portion of our list. This road is an adventure that could take weeks if you'd like. There is history, hiking, shopping, restaurants, and much more to keep you entertained even while off the road. If you hit the Blue Ridge just right in October or November, you'll experience some of the most incredible forestry scenery on Earth...the changing leaves is an epic sight.

The Hurricane Ridge Road is Olympic National Park's gem, and is quite accessible with the city of Seattle so close. The road features sweeping bends and curves, stunning scenery, smooth pavement, and many stops to soak in the views and take a break. You for sure want to conquer this road early in the morning or at dusk to avoid the traffic, as this park draws in many, many folks. Rest and refit facilities are scattered, but good in overall quality. If you're in the area, this road is surely one to set out drive, cycle, board, or ride.
